  • Why was this project started?
    We wanted to combine health benefits of living in a food forest(see: forest bathing), better health due to the consumption of food produced in the food forest, ecological benefits to the environment through increasing green cover along with the financial growth from owning a piece of land which by real estate standards is a fast growing area.
  • Why did we start this?
    There are several people behind this. One of us is really interested in design which you will see in the architecture that will get built on this place. We will also show some videos on the ground work done in architecture. Another is really interested in the green cover to the point where he volunteered at places like Auroville. Another is really interested in the meditative effects of living around trees. Even our legal team members are primarily interested in the concept. We have some members who are interested in very distinct architectures that they get to build once we get started.
  • Can you explain the project in brief?
    You will have a private food forest grown for you along with a place for you to build your living space. It will have the following amenities:
  • Why is this valuable?
    You can build buildings really fast but you cannot accelerate building of forests as fast. What you will have in your hands will be valuable for health, ecology and financially. Financially it will be better because forest will always be lesser in supply than demand due to the gestation period and its value only grows with its age.
  • OK. How is this is different from a farm plot?
    Forests take a while to grow but they are on their own once they grow. We do design the forest in a way to start yielding more food than a forest in the wild but it requires a lot less in terms of maintenance for growth after it grows.
  • Is food forest like Farming?
    No. Forest has higher bio diversity and lesser maintenance. It becomes resistant to all adverse environmental conditions like droughts and floods once the incubation time is over.
  • Is this a DTCP or HMDA layout?
    The land determines the design of the food forest. We cannot structure it towards a housing plot as such. It will not be a DTCP or HMDA layout. It will be a GP Layout. Or Gram Panchayat layout with a Non Agricultural Land conversion for Housing plot.
  • What is permaculture?
    Permaculture literally means Permanent Agriculture. It is a systems design methodology for the growth of agriculture ecosystems in a self-sufficient and sustainable way. This form of agriculture draws inspiration from nature to develop synergetic farming systems based on crop diversity, resilience, natural productivity, and sustainability.
  • What is Miyawaki?
    Miyawaki is a technique pioneered by Japanese botanist Akira Miyawaki, that helps build dense, native forests in a short time. It has revolutionised the concept of urban afforestation by turning backyards into mini-forests.This method includes planting trees (only native species) as close as possible in the same area which not only saves space, but the planted saplings also support each other in growth and block sunlight reaching the ground, thereby preventing the growth of weed.The saplings become maintenance-free (self sustainable) after the first three years.The approach is supposed to ensure that plant growth is 10 times faster and the resulting plantation is 30 times denser than usual.
  • How long does the forest take to grow ?
    Though the full growth of forest happens over a span of 20-30 years. They becoming self-sustainable and start to serving the purpose between 3-5 years. Permaculture takes 4-5 years for it to be converted into a self sustainable format. Miyawaki on the other hand takes lesser time (3 years) to be self sustainable but it would be a high density forest which does not focus on produce.

  • What are the sizes available?
    For the lands we are looking at we are looking at land parcels which are multiples are of 900 sq yards* exclusively for you without including access to other amenities. *Size may vary. Will be disclosed if it changes.*
  • If I am part of this, what would I be receiving?"
    You would be receiving a Forest of 5 Guntas and a housing plot of 300 sqyrds. Also you will be getting access to all Amenities of the project like Club House, Swimming pond, Party Lawn, Common Kitchen, Common Work space, Open Air Theater, Bon Fire and many more places that make your stay exciting.
